Kala Ghoda Cafe, Fort, Mumbai.

This place is slightly difficult to locate if you are going to this place for the first time since it is quite a hole-in-the-wall type of cafe which gels in well with the surrounding structures and so is very easy to miss.

The reason this place is a gem is because this is one of the few restaurants in Mumbai served you the healthier and of course tasty food made of organic food products and ingredients. Their fruits, veggies, micro greens, sugar and even tea and coffee are organically cultivated maintaining bio-diversity and without disturbing the balance in the eco-system. They also make their own breads with organic Whole wheat, Bajra, Nachni, Oats or Flax and very small amount of Maida making it healthier.

The ambience is quite simple, nothing fancy. White coloured walls, wooden benches and white chairs, circular wooden tables and the main counter tucked away in the corner all give it a very bright and classy appearance. A flight of stairs in the end leads to an upper dining area which hosts a table, a comfortable couch and  two chairs. This place is very peaceful and cosy for a good read or a good and peaceful conversation with friends and family. We were here on a Sunday evening for a group meet and had a wonderful time!

Rosti with roast veggies – 5/5

It was a grated potatoes and cheddar cheese pancake garnished with slices of tomato and mixed lettuce. We requested an add-on of roasted veggies in it and the resultant was simply brilliant!! This was the first time ever in my life that I had loved the taste of eggplants in some dish. Absolutely well done!

Eggless waffles with chocolate sauce – 4.5/5

Since two of us were vegeterians, we opted for the eggless waffles. Freshly made eggless waffles served with a small jar of melted chocolate that we entirely poured on to the waffles and gulped down withing seconds!
