We all know that and no one can take away the credit that CCD had single handedly built the coffee culture in India when it first came here in 1996. They were then followed by other huge brands including barista, Starbucks, Costa and of course, the Australian coffee giant – Di Bella! They entered the market which was already appreciating good coffee and were able to pull away a notch of customers towards their cafes.
Philip Di Bella founded Di Bella Coffee in 2002 in Brisbane, Australia. It has since then evolved into a full-service coffee company. Not only is Di Bella Coffee the fastest-growing coffee company in Australia, but also the most awarded one. The same enthusiasm and innovation that put Di Bella Coffee on the map in Australia is sure to turn heads amongst the burgeoning Indian cafe culture.
This was the fourth and the final halt in the first ever food walk organized by our foodie group Epicureans in Versova. The fact that we chose this coffee place over any other dessert place for desserts is a proof enough to rethink about labelling this as a ‘just coffee’ place.
We were a large group and when we reached there, this place was almost full. The inside dining area was completely occupied and the outside dining area had just two tables left and the staff had to join them together to make arrangements for us.
Located in a calm and composed surrounding, the ambience is very warm and welcoming. The indoor dining area looked pleasing to the eyes with it’s chic wooden furnishing, couches and clean tables. That’s all I could notice about the inner section in a few minutes that we waited there requesting them to make our seating arrangements. The outside dining area is very relaxing and perfect for a hangout with pals!
They have a good range of coffees, other beverages like shakes, etc; quick bites and desserts and have a separate extensive menu of waffles desserts! We came here to satisfy our waffle dessert cravings so we went on and ordered the Organic Maple waffle, the Chocolate explosion waffle and the Blueberry waffle. We were told that the waffles would take minimum 20 minutes to be ready. But we knew they were worth waiting for!
The Organic Maple waffle- (4.5/5)
Freshly baked Belgian waffle dressed with organic maple syrup, dusted with icing sugar and served with french vanilla ice cream and whipped cream, both garnished with chocolate sprinkles. The waffles were just perfect! (in all the waffle desserts that we ordered as a matter of fact). I am generally not much a fan of the sweetness imparted to a dish by honey, maple syrup, jaggery and few such sweeteners and I like very few dishes containing these ingredients (because they sometimes turn out to ne too sweet for my taste), but I still loved having this one as much as I loved the rest of the waffles! Absolutely delicious!
The Chocolate explosion waffle – (4.5/5)
Freshly baked Belgian waffle dressed with lots and lots of liquid chocolate, and served with premium chocolate ice cream and whipped cream, both garnished with chocolate sprinkles. I enjoyed every bit of this one, given the fact that I’m such a die-hard chocolate lover!
The Blueberry waffle – (4.5/5)
Freshly baked Belgian waffle dressed with blueberry compote and served with french vanilla ice cream and whipped cream, both again garnished with chocolate sprinkles. Amazing! Simply amazing! It took us a few seconds to gobble down the entire thing.
